Patient Rights & Responsibilities

This is our contract with you

We will advise you how to keep yourself healthy and, if you are ill or have a worry about your health, we will give you the best service we can within the limits of the resources made available to us.

  • we will treat you with courtesy and respect
  • discuss your care with you
  • try not to keep you waiting
  • provide the services of nurses and other staff
  • not use drugs unless they are necessary
  • respond quickly to emergencies
  • keep your records confidential
  • listen to your complaints and take the appropriate action

We will expect you

  • to never be rude or discourteous to our staff
  • tell us if you cannot keep an appointment
  • give us 48 hours notice when you ask for a repeat prescription
  • only ask for a home visit if you are too ill to get to the surgery
  • only telephone for advice or ask for a visit outside of our normal opening hours if it is unavoidable.
